Rachel Contracting was hired to demolish the Elk River Ice Arena known as “The Barn”. The work included the coordination of utility disconnects and rerouting for all utilities that served the Ice Area. The demolition work included the total demolition of the steel frame 31,000 square foot Ice Area Building and the hand separation of the Ice Arena from the active Ice Rink to the east. A CAT 336 excavator with various demolition attachments was used to demolish, segregate and load out steel, debris and concrete. Lastly, we removed the insulated slab on grade that contained the cooling tubes for the ice slab.
