Rachel Contracting was hired to perform the environmental remediation and demolition of the 164,000 SF Menards retail building in Maplewood, MN. Pre-demolition work items included utility disconnects, asbestos abatement and regulated waste removal. Steel shelving was salvaged for owners reuse. The demolition was performed with three CAT excavators with various demolition attachments. The debris was segregated onsite and landfill material was loaded and hauled offsite for disposal. The concrete generated from the slab on grade and foundation removal was crushed and stockpiled on site for reuse.
