The Cardinal Point Wind Farm is a 150 Mega-Watt facility located on 20,000 acres of privately-owned lands in McDonough & Warren Counties in Illinois. The 60 tower wind farm started construction in May of 2019 & is expected to be under commercial operation by March 2020. Rachel performed all the civil construction components from the start of construction through the projects current construction status including the laydown yard, site access roads, foundation excavation & backfill & public road upgrades. This area of Illinois, much like the entire Midwest in 2019, received record-breaking rainfall amounts in a short period of time making construction extremely difficult. Despite the weather delays, Rachel was able to complete all contract scope items as planned for 2019. Site restoration will begin in the Spring of 2020.
