The Elliot Park Site Improvements & Field Construction are two separate projects completed in conjunction with one another. The site improvements were contracted through the City of Minneapolis Park & Rec and the field construction was contracted with North Central University. Rachel performed both projects for the clients to be as efficient as possible as the project dealt with a tight working area. This made the construction of the field a bit challenging. Jay Pomeroy (AJA), the engineer on the project, said this field was constructed in the smallest working space than any other project they have designed. However, Rachel’s project team worked well coordinating all of the activities ranging from the site removals (tennis courts, baseball field, and skate park) to the earthwork operations for the field construction to the many subcontractors that needed to complete the project.
