For many years, this iconic structure was one of the first buildings you saw coming into Elk River on the busy stretch of Highway 10. Being a public power provider, the high visibility location of the demolition project to the general public was a major concern to Great River Energy. However, Rachel provided Great River Energy with a quick timeline and an efficient operation to keep the project under the public’s radar. Overall, the project consisted of the 51,400 square foot office building demolition, the backfill and compaction of 2,800 cubic yards of soil that was imported and over 5,700 square yards of sod that was installed in the former buildings footprint. Even though the cost to install sod was higher than seeding the site, GRE wanted the site restored as soon as possible. In just three short weeks the project was completed and most people would never even know a building existed at the site.
