Rachel Contracting was awarded the demolition of the former 238,000 SF Seneca Foods facility in Rochester, Minnesota. The work consisted of the regulated waste abatement and environmental remediation, building demolition, footing and foundation extraction, utility abandonment and removal, and site restoration of 11 acres. The work also included the protection and restoration of the historical “Corn on the Cob” painted water tower. The restoration work included the removal of the existing paint from the interior and exterior of the tank and support structures, repainting of the water tower, and upgrading railing and ladders to comply with OSHA regulations.
